XREAL Aura glasses get pricing, starting at $1,279
XREAL announced pricing for its Aura Android XR glasses on October 7, 2026: $1,279 for the base model and $1,499 for the larger one.
What happened: on October 7, 2026, XREAL revealed official pricing for the Aura, its Android XR glasses. The base model with 12 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage costs $1,279. A version with 16 GB and 512 GB costs $1,499. Earlier, the company had only said the base price would not exceed $1,500.
The hardware: the glasses weigh under 95 grams and use optical see-through displays with a 70-degree field of view. They are not standalone. A tethered compute puck runs Android XR with the Gemini assistant, and it is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite chip. Reports also mention hand tracking and a puck that doubles as a trackpad.
Availability: XREAL says the Aura ships before the holidays in the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea, with more countries in 2027. Some outlets report a mid-November start, but that date was not part of XREAL's own announcement, so treat it as unconfirmed. Pre-orders opened first for people who had already paid a reservation deposit, with orders for everyone else to follow.
Why it matters: the Aura is one of the first glasses built around Android XR, which Google is positioning as a shared platform for headsets and glasses. Its price puts it in the premium range, and its tethered design makes it a different product from lightweight camera glasses.
